This time of year you hear about many opportunities that abound in our area, especially from festivals to casual hikes on our trails along the Blue Ridge Parkway, or even the NC Arboretum. Your "Pantry Family" appreciates the time you share with us especially on Saturday mornings welcoming our neighbors who are experiencing food insecurity in our community. We are averaging close to 140 families each week. Volunteers are welcome even for only an hour to help us with the early morning rush.
A Note from Doug: Doug Kearney, our Garden Master, welcomed Garden Workers from Lutheran Disaster Response. A hardworking group of students from Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Loveland, Ohio spread compost and leaf mulch over the garden on Tuesday. Our plants will love it! They are based at Lutheridge for a week to help mostly with post-Helene clean-up, but also help us make the Lord’s Acre Fletcher be all it can be.
Saturday, we welcomed 132 families representing 481 individuals. There were 12 new families' representing 42 family members. Thank you, volunteers and our Spanish and Ukraine interpreters for your assistance with shopping.
On behalf of our Pantry Board, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous food and monetary donations to our pantry. Your donations will make a significant impact on the lives of those in our community who are struggling with food insecurity.
