AAAAAAAH...The pantry was filled with LOVE last Saturday!!!! Yes, 150+ "LOVES"....that is Mini-Love Watermelons! .... Our garden continues to produce an abundance of fresh organic produce. Neighbors often comment on the variety of tasty produce offered and how healthy it is for their family. Thank you to the many volunteers who helped with the planting, harvesting, and transporting melons to pantry.
Another banner week of donated items from our community! Flavor First donated freshly picked corn from their fields and tomatoes. Publix donated over 700 pounds of meat, pastries, bread, and produce from their recently opened Mills River Store. Brenda from the Society of St. Andrews Gleaners dropped off potatoes that were gleaned locally.
Thank You to our "Go-To Person” this week, Krystyna Muldoon. Krystyna, puts the "M" in multi-tasking! With a 169 neighbors and around 38 volunteers on Saturday, the pantry was a flurry of activity....She hit the ground running by six on Saturday and never slowed until the last neighbor was served....
Saturday, we welcomed 169 families representing 609 individuals. There were 20 new families representing 61 individuals. Thank you, volunteers and our Spanish and Ukraine interpreters for your assistance with shopping.
On behalf of our Pantry Board, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous food and monetary donations to our pantry. Your donations will make a significant impact on the lives of those in our community who are struggling with food insecurity.
