Food Pantry – August 16, 2025 -- You may remember the hit song by the Beatles, "All You Need is Love!"  Well, our pantry was certainly filled with LOVE.....that is tasty Mini-LOVE Watermelons last Saturday. Our "Neighbors" were offered one of these organically grown watermelons from our garden. We are expecting another watermelon harvesting soon. Hope you can join us on Thursday night at 6:30 in the garden where we'll be planting our fall collards.

Wednesday, we received a mini-Manna order of food for Saturday distribution. Manna had a generous donation of Mango chunks and shared many cases with us. Our own Chef Martha offered Mango chunks to taste and some recipe suggestions. Joe demonstrated how to dry Roma tomatoes used in many recipes. We also received a surprise from one of our neighbors—she brought in an apple pie including ice cream. Mmmmm, a little comfort food.

Saturday, we welcomed 136 families representing 476 individuals. There were 24 new families representing 74 family members. We continue to need volunteers who can help with Spanish registrations. Once a month would be very helpful!

On behalf of our Pantry Board, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous food and monetary donations to our pantry. Your donations will make a significant impact on the lives of those in our community.

The Lord’s Acre of Fletcher – August 19, 2025

Perennial Garden Grows -- The Lord’s Acre native perennial garden, Michael Schruckmayr’s Eagle Scout project, is a year old and looking great. He added a few plants last week. Thanks, Michael, for adding to the beauty of the garden and encouraging bees and butterflies. Take a good look the next time you’re in the garden.
