Food Pantry – August 9, 2025 -- Are you old enough to remember lemonade for sale on tables you may have had on your front lawn or driveway?  Thanks to the Crowfield Neighborhood Association, they donated lemonade and ice cream for our neighbors and volunteers.  We set up a stand right in the middle of the pantry. Sometimes you just need comfort food.

Not only did we receive a large Manna order of food for Saturday distribution, our own Chef Martha prepared three tasty dishes for the Carolina Kitchen segments that will be aired on WLOS during the noon news. Chef Martha prepares easy recipes that our neighbors can prepare from items offered on Saturdays.

Hope you can join us on Thursday night at 6:30 in the garden where we'll be planting our fall cabbage. If we're not in the field planting, look for us in the hoop house picking tomatoes and peppers. Our mini-love watermelons are a sight to behold!

We have one of our Mini-Manna deliveries this Wednesday (8/13) at 1:45. It will take about an hour to unload the trailer. We're expecting eggs, meat and produce. You're welcome to join us.

Saturday we welcomed 128 families representing 469 individuals. There were 13 new families representing 40 family members. We continue to need volunteers who can help with Spanish registrations. Once a month would be very helpful!

On behalf of our Pantry Board, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous food and monetary donations to our pantry. Your donations will make a significant impact on the lives of those in our community.

 The Lord’s Acre of Fletcher – August 12, 2025

Hoop house 2 almost ready for fall crops -- Thanks to Dick Ackman’s crew, who spent a long morning shoveling soil and wood chips, the new hoop house is almost ready to receive it’s fall plantings of lettuce, beets, and sprouting broccoli. Left to be completed are drip irrigation and sidewall motors.
