Another "Egg-cellent” day at the Pantry!  "No YOLK" For the past three weeks we have received enough eggs from Manna to distribute at least two dozen eggs to each family. What a treat!  Thank you, MANNA!!! Not to be out done, our Garden is producing rows of "LOVE!" That is...mini-love watermelons! This past Thursday night, the tomatoes that were planted along the garden rows were harvested and left over stalks were taken to the compost pile.  Our hoop house tomatoes are thriving and we continue to harvest them as they ripen. We are preparing now the area to plant our fall collards, a pantry favorite of our "neighbors." For our "data" folks, we are delighted to announce that 1,255 pounds of produce were harvested in the month of July.

We welcomed 119 families representing 421 individuals. There were 12 new families representing 30 family members. We continue to need volunteers who can help with Spanish registrations. Once a month would be very helpful!

On behalf of our Pantry Board, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous food and monetary donations to our pantry. Your donations will make a significant impact on the lives of those in our community.

The Lord’s Acre of Fletcher - We had a group of volunteers who are part of the Lutheran Disaster Relief volunteers from Southwestern Penn Lutheran Disaster Relief. Their scheduled task in Swannanoa was cancelled on Monday, so we were fortunate to have them in the garden. It's almost fall planting time. Next week, we'll plant cabbage transplants in the field, followed soon after by collards in the raised beds, and lettuce, sprouting broccoli, and carrots in the hoop houses.
