Falling Leaves, Hay Rides, Autumn, Pumpkin Spice, Harvest, and Pumpkin Pie…Fletcher Methodist Church set the tone for our food distribution this past Saturday. Their front campus is filled with pumpkins. Each of our neighbor's children left with a mini pumpkin held tightly in their hands. Thanks to Sylvia our pantry is decked with fall leaves attached to strings of light.
A shout out to Skyland Methodist Church! This past week they had an abundance of larger size diapers and hand knit hats they offered to us. We are thankful for this generous donation. In other good news, we offered blood pressure and glucose screenings to all of our neighbors and volunteers. Walgreens sponsored this event. The UNC-Chapel Hill Escheleman School of Pharmacy interns assisted and they are now housed at the MAHEC campus. Our garden provided lots of collards and peppers. Thank you faithful pickers and planters! A good time was had by all!
Saturday, we welcomed 144 families representing 544 individuals. There were 10 new families representing 36 family members. We continue to need volunteers who can help with Spanish registrations. Once a month would be very helpful!
On behalf of our Pantry Board, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous food and monetary donations to our pantry. Your donations will make a significant impact on the lives of those in our community who are struggling with food insecurity.
