This Saturday, we are so fortunate to host the UNC ESHELMAN SCHOOL OF PHARMACY interns from UNC-A for glucose and blood pressure screenings.  They will be located in an office in the gathering Room. Jack Grant, from the Lion's Club, will offer vision screening in the trailer located in the pantry parking lot. Our neighbors and volunteers are offered both of these opportunities at no charge.

On Saturday, we welcomed 134 families representing 525 individuals. There were 10 new families representing 35 family members. We continue to need volunteers who can help with Spanish registrations. Once a month would be very helpful!

43rd Annual Henderson County Hunger Coalition Hunger Walk

Dates: 8:00 a.m., Saturday September 20, 2025 and/or 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 14, 2025

Money raised for the walk is distributed to local non-profit agencies for hunger relief in Henderson County. Calvary Food Pantry received $ 8,ooo this past year. We are looking for sponsors for our walkers. Please consider supporting our walkers. A basket will be available in the Old Well Hall on Sunday September 7 and September 14. A basket will also be available in the food pantry on Saturdays.  Help us make this a success.  Thank you.

For more information contact Betty Robbins for the Hendersonville walk on September 20th or Carol Romine for the Ardenwoods Walk on September 14th. If you need Betty or Carol’s phone number, call the church office at 828-684-6266.

On behalf of our Pantry Board, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous food and monetary donations to our pantry. Your donations will make a significant impact on the lives of those in our community.

 The Lord’s Acre of Fletcher – September 9, 2025

Need a Hand Waterer -- There will be newly seeded carrots and beets in the hoop house that need to be hand watered for the next few weeks. If you are able to help with watering, please let Doug know 828-808-9639.

Adding Hydrant – We are extending the water line and adding four hydrants down the side of the garden. In addition, two retracting watering hoses will be added to make watering easier and to keep hoses off the ground. Thanks to Dick Ackman and his crew for making this happen.

Groups in the garden – We’re always happy to have local groups take on projects in the garden. This week Christ School students will pull weeds and rehab the blueberry patch. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, under Steve Stays leadership, will join us Saturday to help turn over the hoop house to fall production.
