Save the Date! Our Second Hoop House's Garden Blessing will be held on June 11, 2025 at 5:00 at the Hoop House. Following the Garden Blessing, please join us at the Church Parish Hall for Fellowship and Feasting. Sign up to attend…at the pantry, church office, or Old Well Hall.
Advent Health's Gardens of Hope Program goal is “A hands on practical short course for cancer survivors.” Plus, it includes how to grow your own produce in your home garden while volunteering at a functioning garden that supplies produce for the food insecure population in our community.
Just imagine the times you have bought an item that says on the box "Some Assembly Required!" Now picture a truck delivering boxes of nuts & bolts, screws, and 100's of metal pipe pieces! All items were unloaded and placed under our garden shed. Oh, and did I mention the accompanying manual??? There is an incredible group of volunteers that took on this challenge to build the hoop house. It was definitely an AHA moment when several of us were at the garden tonight. We saw heavy machinery, extra tall ladders, and an assortment of tools. It's well worth a drive-by to view the structure as it nears completion of the frame. We are excited to prolong our growing season to produce organically grown veggies throughout the year.
We welcomed 127 families representing 428 individuals and eleven new families. The eleven new families represent a total of thirty-eight family members. We continue to need volunteers who can help with Spanish registrations. Once a month would be very helpful! We also need one person once a month to pick up milk and one person to pick up some food at Sav-Mor.
On behalf of our Pantry Board, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous food and monetary donations to our pantry. Your donations will make a significant impact on the lives of those in our community who are struggling with food insecurity.

News from The Lord’s Acre of Fletcher, May 27, 2025 – Blossoms are appearing on squash and tomatoes, and collards may be in for another 100-pound harvest next week. Set aside the evening of Thursday, June 5 for weeding, collard-picking and mulching. Because of longer and hotter days, we will change our meeting time to 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. starting next Thursday, June 5. Please come. We so enjoy seeing both new and old faces. We had a wonderful crew last week. Busy hands and new faces made for a fun evening in the garden. Thanks to all!!
