Alas...it was not a parade at the pantry on Saturday. It was 162 vehicles making their way to the pantry parking lot. If the 40+ volunteers had not arrived before 8:00, we would still be distributing food until the last person was served. When the 112 pounds of produce from our garden (cabbages, peppers, and collards) were added with the produce from Manna (potatoes, onions, peppers, and lettuce), smiles broke out among our "neighbors!" Even with the larger number of neighbors, we were prepared to offer milk, eggs, and meat to everyone.

Donations this week have been generous, not only monetary, but also through food donations, and the service of volunteering. Edward Jones donated 2 shopping carts filled with food, Ingles delivered over 50 bags filled with food for a meal, The Sewing Sisters offered us hand sewn quilts and 300 beanie babies for the children. ArdenWoods had a bake sale this weekend and proceeds of over $300.00 was donated to the pantry.

Saturday, we welcomed 162 families representing 583 individuals. There were 28 new families representing 88 family members. We continue to need volunteers who can help with Spanish registrations. Once a month would be very helpful! Thank You Tom, Vickie, and Hillary for answering the call!

On behalf of our Pantry Board, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous food and monetary donations to our pantry. Your donations will make a significant impact on the lives of those in our community who are struggling with food insecurity.

Thank you we are truly blessed by your generosity and service to others....
