The prelude will consist of two Lutheran hymn settings by Max Regerr (1873-1916), the German composer who was known to have more or less bridged late romanticism with modern harmonies-- sometimes rather Wagnerian.  The hymn tunes (or chorals) may actually sound familiar; they are the Easter hymns, "Jesus Christ, My Sure Defense", and "Like the Golden Sun Ascending".

The processional hymn is the familiar 19th century "Jesus Lives," 194, and the Gospel  Hymn is another familiar 19th c.tune, "Awake, arise, lift up your voice," 212.

Our anthem, entitled "Love Is Come Again," is a John Erickson arrangement of hymn 204, "Now the green blade riseth," a medieval French carol.  It is a most popular tune!

Communion hymns are "O Sons and Daughters" (206, vv. 1-3), and "This joyful Eastertide" (192).

Closing, we will sing "Good Christians all, rejoice and sing" (205).  Note in the hymnal notes how old this well known tune is; however, the words are 20th century!

The postlude is a setting by the late American composer, Dale Wood, of the very familiar hymn tune we know as "Morning Has Broken" (8), but is also used for a different text, "Praise and Thanksgiving."  The tune ("Bunessan") is, as you may note, a traditional Gaelic melody.
