The prelude is by the famous French organist, Marcel Dupre (1886-1971), and is a setting in the baroque style of the hymn, "Now as we journey, aid our weak endeavor"; so it may sound to you like J.S. Bach may have composed it!

Our processional hymn is the well known "At the name of Jesus" (435), by Ralph Vaughan Williams.  Complimenting the Gospel reading from Luke, we will sing "Before Thy throne, O God, we kneel" (574), the tune by the Russian composer, Dimitri Bortniasnky.

During the offertory, Audy Walker will sing "There's a wideness in God's mercy", accompanied by Linda Wozniak on flute.  We always sing the tune of "Beecher" (hymn 470); this is the same text but a tune and arrangement using flute or violin, by Calvin Hampton (1938-1984), American composer who wrote a total of 5 hymns in our hymnal.

Communion hymns are the well loved "Come down, O Love divine" (516), another tune by Vaughan Williams, and the very old but familiar "Father, we thank thee" (302).

Closing, we will sing the 20th century hymn by Herbert Howells, "All my hope on God is founded" (665).

The postlude is the "Fugue" from Felix Mendelssohn's Second Organ Sonata in C Minor--although the fugue is in C Major!
