Whew dodged a big one last Saturday morning! The ditty "Snow Snow go away, Come again another day......" didn't keep 38 volunteers plus a van of Christ School students away. Many thanks for your effort assisting with the food distribution for our ""neighbors." The day was frigid and blustery ....... again many thanks hardy souls!
What a perfect day for St. John's Lutheran Church from Walhalla, SC to donate lots of hand knitted and crocheted hats and scarves! The items were displayed on two of our large tales for easy selection as our neighbors left the pantry. We absolutely appreciate this timely donation! What a perfect week as Chef Martha prepared three scrumptious recipes as part of the WLOS Carolina Kitchen segments. Molasses Cookies, Black Bean Salsa, and Winter Pear Salad were videoed by Bill.
Twice a month on Wednesdays Manna delivers food to us. On the other two Wednesdays, a faithful group of volunteers pick up the Mini Manna delivery with Doug and his trailer. This is "No Yolk" They picked up a pallet of cheese and eggs!
Saturday, we welcomed 132 families representing 492 individuals. There were 11 new families representing 40 family members. We continue to need volunteers who can help with Spanish registrations. Once a month would be very helpful!
On behalf of our Pantry Board, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous food and monetary donations to our pantry. Your donations will make a significant impact on the lives of those in our community who are struggling with food insecurity.
