Talk about HARDY Volunteers! Last Saturday was one for the record books. No one complained about the cool damp morning and steady downpour of over two inches of rain. As you are aware, we've had a stretch of dry days. However, only Dan was achieving the "rain dance" as he distributed numbers to our neighbors. Thank you volunteers for assisting in this very cool soaking morning.
Our neighbors were overjoyed as they entered the TEFAP Room (The Emergency Food Assistance Program) and received extra food beyond their regular shopping. They had several choices of meat including catfish, pork shops, chicken, and ground beef. Several choices of canned fruit, beans, and veggies were offered too. Thanks to weekly deliveries from Manna with fresh produce and our hoop houses producing winter veggies, our neighbors have healthy weekly.
Saturday, we welcomed 128 families representing 494 individuals. There were 10 new families representing 31 family members. We continue to need volunteers who can help with Spanish registrations. Once a month would be very helpful!
On behalf of our Pantry Board, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous food and monetary donations to our pantry. Your donations will make a significant impact on the lives of those in our community who are struggling with food insecurity.
