The prelude is a set of variations on our processional hymn (436), the tune known as "Truro", which actually is used for several different texts; they are by the contemporary Jonathan Reuss, who is most active in the Lutheran church as organist and composer.

The 16th century Gospel hymn you will recognize as an Advent hymn, but it is appropriate for the day, in relating to the Gospel reading.  The hymn is "Once He came in blessing", 53.

Our anthem is one some of you know, "The Lord Bless You and Keep You", by John Rutter, the most popular English composer, born in 1945.

During communion, Martha and Lynn Bailey will play the harp, given they are gracious to play on the second Sundays of the month.  Selections will be: "Jerusalem, my happy home" (from the 1940 hymnal), "Rise Up, Jerusalem" by John Foley, and "Thanksgiving Hymn" (traditional Netherlands hymn arr. by Kim Robertson.

Our closing hymn is the wonderful hymn "Guide me, O Thou Great Jehovah", 690.

The postlude is an "Trumpet Voluntary" arrangement of the hymn "When morning guilds the skies", by the American contemporary, Franklin D. Ashdown.
