Music at Calvary

What would church be without music? Hard to imagine. Organ and choir music is as much a part of worship as Bible lessons and the sermon. Calvary has several outlets for those blessed with musical ability.

Adult Choir – Composed of volunteers who love to praise God with their voices. The choir leads hymns, service music, and sings an anthem at the 10:30 a.m. service, and at special services throughout the year. Teenagers are welcome to join. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m.

Children’s Choir – Open to children ages 5 years and up. This choir provides children with an opportunity to learn basic music skill, to sing and ring hand-bells, and to perform in church once a month. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday afternoons from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Instrumental Music – On feast days or other occasions, such as during the healing service, solo instruments are used to enhance worship. Do you play the ‘cello or flute? Are you part of a recorder quartet? We’d love you to share your gifts.

Special Musical Presentations – What’s the Christmas season without a children’s pageant? What’s Easter Day without a fanfare of trumpets? For those unable to commit to weekly rehearsals, these and other special presentations can offer a satisfying musical experience.
